The Bachtel is a mountain in the Zurich Oberland near Hinwil in Switzerland. At 1115 m above sea level, it is the highest elevation of the Allmann chain (Allmen chain, Bachtel-Allmen chain) between Töss and Glatt/Kempt.

The Bachtel is a popular destination for excursions. On the summit of the Bachtel there is a restaurant and the Bachtel lookout tower.

Trip Description

Day plan:Departure point - TCS parking lot Ried

We will pick you up at the agreed time at the arranged departure point and drive together in the minivan to the TCS parking lot Ried. There the guided hike begins. First we go to the Wissengubel cave, then further up the mountain towards the Täuferhöhle, on the way we will have a barbecue or you can enjoy a fine picnic. Afterwards we continue to the Bachtel tower. In the panorama restaurant Bachtel-Kulm, you can enjoy the view and have a coffee or snack. Afterwards we continue to the Bachtelspalt. It is a crevice that was formed in 1939 when a Nagelfluh head slid down. It is passable, but relatively narrow. After this adventure we return to the starting point of the hike. Hiking time is about 3-4 hours. Afterwards we will drive you back.
